  • Basic price increased to $1975.

 Bodies

    • Smoother, more integrated appearance.
    • All controls inside.
    • Cowls on all bodies except Coupe.
    • Reverse curve in front fenders.
    • Top and windshield standard equipment.
    • Sidelight wiring concealed.

 

Chassis:

  • Wheelbase lengthened to 120 in.

Drive line:

  •  No significant change.

Engine

    • Major changes in lower end.
    • Stroke increased to 5-3/4 in.
    • Main bearings now in upper half of crankcase - lower half becomes an oil pan.
    • Camshaft and accessory shaft chain driven.
    • Engine mounting points moved to top of crankcase.
    • Engine suspended from arched cross members.
    • Valve stems enclosed.
    • Starter/generator simplified (six volt only) and more compact.
    • Ring governor used once more; but for spark control, not speed control.

Model "Thirty"

Same as the 1909 model except for changes in the bodies, chassis, driveline, and engine. Also the basic price was increased to $1600. 1910 Cadillac Model Thirty

Bodies:
  • Only open cars were advertised before April, 1910.
  • The Limousine was shown in the early catalog, but the Coupe was added in a later catalog.
  • The closed bodies were built by Fisher.
  • The touring body was made of wood with a large (rear) panel of Demi-tonneau.
  • All the doors were made of steel.
 Chassis:
  • Gas headlamps were now standard.
  • The wheelbase was lengthened to 110 in. (120 in. on the Limousine).
 Drive line:
  • In mid-year, the rear axle was changed to Timken semi-floating.
 Engine:
  • The bore increased to 4.25 in.
  • The dual ignition consisted of a new Delco four coil system and low tension magneto.
  • In mid-year there were changes to the centrifugal water pump.

Note: In the early days of automobiling in America, open cars and poor travel conditions precluded winter motoring. Manufacturers displayed samples at the winter auto shows and took orders for spring and summer delivery. Cadillac's model year coincided with the calendar year and the year's production was presold.

In 1910, Cadillac got more heavily into closed cars and had a solid reputation for quality and value. With a ready demand for their full factory capacity, they introduced the 1911 models in late summer of 1910 and had delivered a significant percentage of the 1911 model production by the start of the calendar year. Cadillac was now producing below demand and customers were willing to accept delivery at any time or wait as long as necessary for delivery.
