FLEETWOOD SIXTY-SPECIAL SUB-SERIES 680/681 |
Fleetwood models had all standard features of DeVille’s, except limousine had no front center arm rest. Extra regular equipment included Automatic Level Control. The Brougham included adjustable reading lamps and a Dual Comfort front seat. External identification was provided with bright metal body underscores, Fleetwood emblems and lettering and padded Brougham roof. The wheelbase for Sixty-Specials was again 3-1/2 inches longer than on other models. Interior appointments were enriched and new, Eldorado-look, front and rear styling was seen.

Even though production volume eased slightly for 1969, the front-wheel-drive Eldorado continued to be offered as a single model: a six-passenger, two-door hardtop on a short wheelbase platform. There was a new fine texture cross-hatch grille which was separate from the headlights. The dual headlights were now part of the body design and were fully exposed and stationary. Standard equipment included power operated rear quarter vent windows. Chrome-edged "halo" vinyl roof covers replaced the full vinyl roof. There was a new "Control Center" dash, and more safety items: side-impact door beams, front-seat headrests, energy-absorbing steering column with anti-theft ignition, and more convenient inertia-reel seatbelts. Dealers introduced the 1969 model on September 26, 1968.

CALAIS SERIES 682 |
Although its overall size and character was largely unchanged, the 1969 Cadillac was restyled in the Eldorado image. An Eldorado like front fender treatment evolved and helped to emphasize a stronger horizontal design line. Rear quarters were extended to give the car a longer look. There was also an all-new grille with dual horizontal headlamps positioned in the outboard, step-down areas of the grille. The hood was again extended, a total of 2-1/2 inches, to add to the impression of extra length. Calais models came with the following:
All regular Cadillac models had a new, squarer roof line and sculptured rear deck and bumper treatments.
